Welcome to Holy Trinity Church (known also as ‘Shaw Church’)
Our membership of the ‘Inclusive Church Network’ is important to us and means we strive to be a safe and welcoming place for all, where all are equal and cherished just as we are and we will be delighted if you choose to join us.
Our vision:
We want a church which draws people into relationship with God, helps people grow in faith and empowers and equips people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. To help achieve this we try hard at:
* Being intentionally invitational, welcoming, inclusive and diverse, offering a breadth of worship and activities so that there is something for everyone.
* Being a loving Christian community, caring for one another, journeying together through faith, actively working to build relationships across generations and between churches and congregations.
* Being outward looking, serving our local community and caring for God’s creation.
Our Tradition & worship
We delight in our inclusive Anglo-Catholic tradition with incense and bells every week at Sunday Mass.
Our main act of worship on Sunday is a sung Mass at 11 am and we have a thriving Sunday School (Little Trinities) who meet at 11am each Sunday morning in our church hall and then join us part way through service just in time to share the peace, then later sharing with us what they have been up to.
In addition, during the week, we have our Family Eucharist at 6pm on Monday evenings. This is also known as the ‘Nursery Rhyme Mass’ and is shorter than a Sunday service, lasting around 45 minutes. We have designed it to be engaging and accessible for all ages and we encourage children to get involved with readings and serving at the Altar.
Services at Christmas and Easter and other times are planned and shared across the Mission Community, offering a variety of services at times to suit all tastes and family circumstances.
Working With Our Community
Although we don’t have a Church of England Primary School in the parish, we have close links with the local ‘non-church’ school Crompton Primary as well as with Crompton House.
We play a role in the civic life of Shaw and our church hall is home to many community groups.
You’re Always Welcome
No matter who you are or where you’re from, you are welcome here. Our doors are open, our community is active, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
